The two first episodes of Claymore looked pretty promising. Though i personally wanted to kill Raki (”Lucky” perhaps? -if you haven’t seen at least one episode, Raki is the boy. Take a look at the last screencap) right from the moment he appears, he’s one of those variants of the typical no-no characters. He’s the “i’m a kid, an abandoned and lonely normal kid with strong cry-baby tendencies” kind. He’s annoying, he’s a wussie, and if he keeps going like that, i bet he would be crying and screaming like a little girl at least 70% of his on-screen time, and that would be very, VERY disgusting. I don’t like that kind of characters, they are good for nothing… oh wait, there’s something they do quite well; give problems -and, at times, almost get the hero/heroine killed with that pussy attitude. It’s better for him to grow some balls, if not, i’ll be cursing him during all the series.

About Clare, well, she rocks, simple as that. I can’t help but thinking that the style used for the Claymores’ look is a “Joan of Arc” kind-of style, not that that’s a bad thing. I haven’t read the manga but it is a sure thing that her personality and history gives a lot of material and posibilities to the series by itself, and i’ll be glad to watch how will she developes and bring us most of the plot. Yes, i do like characters like her.

The history looks very good, certainly original, there’s no much serious shonen fantasy series like this out there, and for what i’ve read about, it has a good amount of fidelity to the manga, even with the bloodyness, that’s amusing. Animation quality is not a problem here; for me, it has a good quality, above average and sometimes totally cool, i hope they keep going like that.

OP and ED are nothing special in terms of the sequences, but i like the ED. Talking about the music, OP’s song is good but so-so, and the ending one is great, i just love it.

I’ll keep on watching this show, but i’m not really sure about blogging it. And talking about watching, i’ll go watch episode 3 now (took me a lot of time to post this, if we consider that i saw episodes 1 & 2 right when they where subbed… but anyway).
